Job Description

The AWS Cloud Engineer will make significant contributions to our cloud architecture. This role requires in depth knowledge of cloud networking/architecture/security and will be the executioner and strategist for our cloud presence.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and configuring Compute, Storage, Transfer Family, and other cloud services on AWS
• Monitor performance and analysing opportunities for cost savings
• Proactive adaptation of new AWS services that benefit our infrastructure
• Collaborate with the Security team to ensure our AWS infrastructure is in-line with regulatory bodies and follows least privilege.
• Maintain and improve currently utilised backup procedures
• Regularly evaluate existing cloud infrastructure to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
• Incorporate security solutions when designing and implementing systems and applications
• Mentor and support our help desk team on tickets that are above their technical expertise.

Technical Skills

• 2-3+ AWS administration and hands experience.
• Strong knowledge of Network Technologies, both in and outside of AWS
• Ability to think critically and create solutions for unique scenarios
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment
• Familiarity with utilising CloudFormation and Lambda to automate processes
• Familiarity with reading and writing JSON
